Our programs around the world

SOS Children’s Villages was founded in 1949 in Austria and today has a presence in 130 countries and regions. During these 75 years, we continue to work with the unique goal of caring for and protecting the most vulnerable children and defending their rights.

From SOS Children’s Villages around the world:

  • We support 549,800 children and young people through Family Prevention and Strengthening Programs.
  • We provide a protective family environment for 69,000 children and young people worldwide through our 1,325 Villages, Foster Care support programs, Youth Homes and other alternative care programs.
  • We contribute to the education of 238,900 children and young people through our 575 schools, early childhood centers, community centers and vocational training centers.
  • We provide health care to 654,600 people through our 60 health and medical care programs.

  • We have helped 1,385,800 people through 93 Emergency Response Programs.
