PIXIDA

The PIXIDA project started in July 2024

and aims to strengthen the National Strategy for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors in Greece.

This initiative is a collaboration among organizations with experience in child protection and refugee support, including:

  • SYNYPARXIS – Refugee Support Program (Coordinator)
  • SOS Children’s Villages
  • Zeuxis (NGO)
  • Solidarity Now
  • European Expression (NGO)

Role of SOS Children’s Villages

SOS Children’s Villages is responsible for providing clinical supervision to professionals working with unaccompanied minors in various care settings, such as:

  • Reception Centers for Unaccompanied Children
  • Supervised Independent Living Apartments
  • Emergency Accommodation Facilities
  • Emergency Accommodation Facilities

Clinical supervision aims to improve the quality of care and psychological support provided by staff by helping them:

  • Understand the needs of unaccompanied children
  • Strengthen communication between personnel and minors
  • Manage workplace conflicts
  • Prevent professional burnout among caregivers


The PIXIDA project creates a supportive framework for both unaccompanied children and the professionals dedicated to their protection.
