Goals of SOS Children’s Villages

The main goal is to provide children with a protective and safe family environment, a stable home, and a solid education that will give them a promising future.

What are the objectives?

To provide children and adolescents with comprehensive care during their stay, enabling them to develop appropriate physical, emotional, cognitive, and social skills according to their age.

To create a home-like environment by providing individualized attention, meeting basic needs, and encouraging holistic development.

To provide children with daily care from consistent caregivers, along with the continuous and simultaneous presence and support of professional staff within their environment. In other words, their “own” people, always there, both as care staff and as professional support, due to their stable presence.

To maintain the normalcy of a home, with its own routines (shopping, cooking, family meals, planning a household outing, etc.) and its unique characteristics, such as the garden, the décor, a pet, and so on.

Regulating the relationships of children with their biological families is a key goal for us, in order to ensure the most suitable conditions for their best interests, providing a stable and safe living environment.

Who is it intended for?

Children and young people who,  for serious reasons, can no longer remain with their biological family.
